Supportive Communication Sessions (for adults with learning Difficulties & their care-staff)
Every Friday 12.30-1.30
Facilitated by a qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapist with stage 1 & 2 Makaton
These sessions are an opportunity for clients and care-staff to explore forms of non-verbal communication together.
The session takes place over lunch and has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, learning using Makaton through song, art work, games and story- telling.
Participants are encouraged to use their voice when possible but also to explore forms of non-verbal communication to enable them to be as expressive and understood as possible.
This session is a great opportunity for staff to improve their non-verbal skills in order to support their clients in the home environment.
Table Top Art & Crafts (for adults with Learning Difficulties)

Facilitated by two qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapists, supported by volunteers
A relaxed, affirming and creative environment for people to explore their creativity.
The group collaborates on creative ideas working independently and as a group to achieve wonderful creations. A wide range of art materials and creative processes are used.
Every year the art group get involved in the Annual Performance, they work within the theme of the Performance to create art work that gets displayed in the foyer and on stage by the artists themselves.
