INTRODUCTION TO DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY

DESCRIPTION:

A six day taster course which introduces the therapeutic value of dance and other related art forms and provides an excellent introduction to our National Certificate (BTEC) course and for those people considering Master's training in Dance Movement Therapy.

OBJECTIVES:

The course covers:

  • Body Language
  • Movement Improvisation
  • Supported Communication ( Signing )
  • Therapeutic Processes
  • Individual and Group Dynamics
  • Mask Making

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

No formal qualifications needed - but students should have a mature approach to learning in a practical and experiential environment.

RESOURCES:

Comprehensive library and internet access.

GRADING:

Tutor observation, group process, self evaluation forms, practical learning and daily process diary evidence learning.
